About Me:

I began a consistent yoga practice after an inspirational college yoga course 18 years ago. After 11 years of practice I certified as an instructor through InBody Yoga Academy, D’ana Baptiste’s 500 hr Certification Program and have been teaching ever since. I am registered with Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT which necessitates over 2000 hours of teaching experience. I am also a Yoga Alliance Certified Educational Provider and Yoga Teacher Trainer with multiple Yoga Alliance Certified Schools. I have taught at numerous studios as well as corporate and private settings and have further trained and certified in the areas of pre and postnatal yoga, biomechanics, alignment, restorative yoga, and meditation. I have studied with senior teachers such as Donna Farhi, Richard Miller, Charlotte Bell, Susan McLaughlin, Bryan Kest, Thich Nhat Hanh, Baron Baptiste, Sifu Matthew Cohen, Sunny Rose Healey and in Kerala, India. In addition to the knowledge of the body received through yoga training, I worked for the fire department for five years during which time I certified as an EMT, BLS, CPR, and First Aid Instructor. I transitioned from the reactive to the proactive side of health after witnessing firsthand the health benefits of a yogic lifestyle.

Testimonials:

"you're such an amazing instructor and have such a calming influence and are always so in tune with helping us achieve a centered relaxed state..." -yoga student

"I just have to share one of those "What a miracle!!" stories with you.

I have had a busy and wonderful past 3 weeks--traveling by car for work, then by plane & car over a long weekend to get to the Oregon coast & back. My low back & hip, the places where I know arthritis exists, were so painful that I have awakened each night and felt crummy all day long 3-4 days every week. I didn't make it to yoga for one reason or another. Then it was time for yoga class yesterday.

Wow--not even a twinge in the middle of the night. Not even a flicker of pain while I walked my dog. My mood is light today, too (could be because it is Thursday). Anyway, it is good to be a moderately active 57 year old woman again, thanks to your yoga class!

Thank you." -yoga student
